Visiting Scotland’s Covid Memorial

I remember is a memorial walk through Pollok Country Park, Glasgow, featuring 40 tree supports installed in groves and alongside paths. For travel information on how to reach the park please refer to the updated information here.

The Riverside and Birch Groves open in late May 2022. The Beech Grove, Hillside Grove, and Ash Road will be completed by March 2023.

Most of the artworks are by or close to paths or surfaced roads. The least accessible of the supports are those installed along hillside paths. On the map the accessible supports are indicated in oak green, those which are less accessible in rhododendron purple, and those being installed from Summer 2022 to March 2023 in pale green.

I remember includes an audiobook, read by Robert Carlyle, with sound design by Chris Watson. This is accessible using a smart phone, via the QR-code displayed on signage and plaques on the artworks. It is also available as a free download on bandcamp.

It is possible to arrange a memorial planting of wildflowers as a remembrance of loved ones with the help of the park staff contacting them on the wildflower planting Facebook page using the message function. Seeds have been collected in the park and can be planted at locations selected by the park staff.

With the support of greenspace scotland our aim is to install further supports at satellite venues across Scotland. If we successfully raise funding then communities and venues will be able to apply to host one of these.
